Big Thursday (1896-1959)
- The first game between Clemson and South Carolina was held on a Thursday morning in Columbia, SC in conjunction with the
state fair. This became a tradition. From then on, the annual match up between the Tigers and Gamecocks took place
on "Big Thursday" in conjunction with the State Fair (usually held in October) in Columbia, SC.
- South Carolina held a 21-33-2 record in Big Thursday Games
- The last "Big Thursday" game was in 1959. The game was then moved to the end of the season. Since 1959, the
game has alternated locations yearly. Clemson hosts the rivalry on even years and South Carolina hosts the rivalry on
odd years.

- IN COLUMBIA: South Carolina holds a 11-17-1 record
- From 2003-2011, the team that has rushed the ball for the most yards won.
